Vipertex® and HTRI®

Vipertex® and HTRI® have developed a design interface for members’ use that allows HTRI® Xchanger Suite software to perform designs utilizing Vipertex® tubes. HTRI® software products are widely recognized as the industry standard for the design, rating, and simulation of heat transfer equipment. Using the Vipertex® design interface with the HTRI® software, several manufacturers have been able to calculate a significant reduction in the number of tubes used as well as increased efficiency using Vipertex® tubes.

HTRI® members can access the Vipertex® HTRI® Xchanger Suite interface upon request. The Vipertex® HTRI® interface is currently available by calling 724.816.8910 or emailing [email protected].

HTRI® Test Data

Vipertex® model 1EHT tubes provide approximately 100% increase in heat transfer, with a modest increase in pressure drop.

Vipertex® Model 1EHT – Two Phase Bundle Data – Outside

Vipertex® model 1EHT tubes produce combined overall bundle performance increasing shellside and tubeside heat transfer. Enhanced surfaces with cavities on the surface promote nucleate boiling and reduce the required wall superheat for nucleate boiling to occur (Fig 2).
