Rigidized® Metals Corporation Adds Aesthetic Appeal to Cedar Rapids, IA Federal Courthouse 



Located in Northern Iowa, the Cedar Rapids Federal Courthouse needed a weather-resistant, more aesthetically appealing facade. The goal for this project was to provide a wide range of shading with bronze colored stainless steel to give a more positive appearance.

Rigidized® Metals Corporation provided the 14-gauge, bronze-colored 304 stainless steel rolled with Rigidized® Metals’ pattern 6WL®, chosen for its enhanced aesthetics due to light diffusion.



Colored stainless steel holds up to external elements much better than colored anodized aluminum. LIC coloring method was used to provide the various shades being sought after.

San Dieguito Lagoon Wins AIA Landscape Award 





The San Dieguito Lagoon received a landscape design award for urban solutions from the San Diego Chapter of The American Institute of Architects. Link to UT San Diego article here.

Rigidized® Metals Corporation provided the perforated, deep-textured metal sheets that make up the sun shade on the outdoor classroom piece of this project. The metal is 16 gauge 316 stainless steel in 2B finish, perforated, and rolled with Rigidized® Metals’ pattern 6WL®.
